Meet Mr Ghassan Barhoumeh, or “Mr G” as referred by his students. He is a teacher at Jumeira Baccalaureate School (JBS)  in Jumeirah 1. He teaches Grade 3 – International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) having joined the teaching profession last year.

“Teaching is a very rewarding profession and  I am having a wonderful time learning along with my students”, explained Mr G. He went onto say, “Every day you see students using the knowledge and skills that you just taught them. It is exciting to see the learning in action and to witness the success of so many people every day.”

Mr G is inspired by his students, and he highlighted that he is an international teacher who is multilingual and multicultural, and challenges his students to strive to do their very best and in turn this challenges him to do his best too.  He went on to elaborate, “I talk to the students with respect and understanding. I talk their language which is not only English or Arabic, it is the language of technology which every students nowadays ‘speaks’ fluently.  They are not just kids, they are the leaders of tomorrow in every aspect, and they know that I believe in them and that I expect them to behave and make good choices.  Participating in and witnessing the individual successes of each of my students is very inspiring.”

Thank you for enlightening us and our kids. We welcome you to the profession!
